ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The mechanical department was started in 1999 with the establishment of the Institution. From the year 1999 to 2004 the department had been assisting the institution with the training of  students of first and second semesters with core engineering subjects and basic workshop. Mechanical Engineering Branch was sanctioned to the Institution in the year 2004 with intake of 60 students.

After the start of mechanical engineering branch the department was expanded in a more rapid way with experienced staff with various specialisations. The laboratories were established with the latest types of equipments and tools.

LABORATORIES AND INFRASTRUCTURE FACILITY

The laboratories which are necessary for the existing I, II, III & IV semesters have been established with complete set of latest equipments and tools.

The Laboratories like,

The workshop is provided with all the equipments and has experienced technical staff from industrial background.

The material testing laboratory and Foundry Forging laboratory consisting necessary equipments from Companies like Blue star versatile, FIE etc.

The CAD/CAM Laboratory is equipped with software like solid edge v16, Unigraphics NX and Femap, Nastran from UGS.

The CAD/Cam has a dedicated server & 25 IBM high end machines.

STAFF

The teaching faculty in the institution is highly experienced in industry and also in academic area. All the staff members are qualified in different specialization like thermal engineering, Machine design and manufacturing engineering etc.

The faculty has been trained in various workshops to cope with rapidly changing teaching methodologies.

The trained staff members in latest software like unigarphics, ANSYS, SOLIDEDGE AND FEMAP, NASTRAN are the part of Mechanical Department .

The departmental staff have participated in National and International workshops, seminars and training programs to impart efficient knowledge to the students.

INDUSTRY INTERACTION

The department is completely in co-ordination with the “Indo-German Institute of Technology“, a  joint venture between Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum and DIAMANT Germany, which is mainly carrying out research in the areas of advanced moulding technology and tribology.

The Department arranges regular industrial visits for the students to make them understand the  latest development in the field of Mechanical Engineering.

Individual attention is given to each student considering her/his interest and complete guidance with lecture plans, special class and course-material are provided.

National and International Journals different specialization provide the students with the knowledge to carry out project work or new ventures in different areas of interest.
